A closure is a function that retains access to its outer scope variables even after the outer function returns. Example: a counter factory — function createCounter() { let count = 0; return () => ++count; }. Each call to createCounter() creates a new independent counter. React hooks internally use closures to maintain state between renders.

Q2.What is the difference between let, const, and var?+

var is function-scoped and hoisted (initialized as undefined). let and const are block-scoped and in the temporal dead zone until declaration. const prevents reassignment but does not make objects immutable (object properties can still change). Use const by default, let when reassignment is needed, avoid var.

JavaScript is single-threaded. The event loop manages async operations: synchronous code runs on the call stack, async callbacks go to the task queue (setTimeout, I/O) or microtask queue (Promises, async/await). The event loop processes microtasks first, then one task, then re-renders. This is why Promises resolve before setTimeout(fn, 0).
